Orange Wine Region

Wineries with altitude

Since 1996, Orange wine region has been recognized as a distinct Geographic Area (GI) by Wine Australia, which is similar to the French appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC). The wine growing region is organised around the extinct volcano named Mt Canobolas, starting from an elevation of 600m to 1150m above sea level. As a result of these unique features of the land, climate and temperature, Orange produces high quality wines of distinct flavour and colour.
